Surviving Vancouver
Michael Kluckner
Artist and Author
An adjective and a verb—what has survived of its old neighbourhoods, fine buildings and familiar places, and how people are surviving within Vancouver, or without it.
Author and artist Michael Kluckner will speak on the contemporary city with the hope of explaining the changes that are putting so many residents, whether owners or tenants, into a constant state of anxiety, psychological and financial.
With a historical eye to the evolution of both its settled neighbourhoods and the downtrodden Downtown Eastside, he will pose more questions than he is able to answer in this illustrated talk.
