June 19, 2012: UBC Wine Research Centre – Follow up with photos

PROBUS CLUB OF VANCOUVER – JUNE ACTIVITY
TUESDAY JUNE 19TH 9:00 AM TO 1PM UBC WINE RESEARCH CENTRE – LOCATED IN THE FOOD, NUTRITION AND HEALTH BUILDING
2205 EAST MALL (BUILDING JUST SOUTH OF THE UBC BOOK STORE)

A total of 46 Probus Vancouver members attended this event. The coffee/ pastry welcoming party held in the Building foyer went well.

HENNIE J.J. van VUUREN, Ph.D. DIRECTOR WINE RESEARCH CENTRE gave a wonderful talk re the history of the fermentation process of wine making and the contributions of this research centre. He graciously took questions throughout his talk.

Post the lecture, members toured the Wine Library and the Research Labs prior to the luncheon where Dr. van Vuuren led the group in a wine tasting of six different kinds of BC wines. A great time was had by all participants.
